Are you looking for a way to consume your daily requirement of vegetable and fruit nutrients in a convenient and delicious way? Juicing allows you to concentrate all the nutrients of fresh produce in a single glass.

Juicing is a way of extracting juice from a vegetable or fruit and separating vital nutrients and enzymes from the pulp or fiber. Because the body can digest liquids more easily, more and more people are now turning to juicing for better health.

We all know the importance of eating fresh fruits and vegetables daily, but very few of us can consume the recommended amounts needed by the body. Drinking freshly extracted fruit and vegetable juice can provide the vitamins, minerals and enzymes that we need. Juicing unlocks the nutrients from the fibers of fruits and vegetables. It releases the nutrients from the fibers so that maximum benefits can be realized.

Juicing for health provides antioxidants, enzymes and vital nutrients to strengthen the immune system and allow the body to repair itself.

A good quality juicer extracts juice from the whole fruit or vegetable, including the peelings, seeds and pits. These parts contain vital nutrients that we normally throw away.

Antioxidants in the juice help detoxify the body. They eliminate toxins, preservatives, chemicals and fats that accumulate in the body from a diet of processed foods.

Heating or cooking kills enzymes. On the other hand, juicing preserves live enzymes that can aid in digestion and cell regeneration. Drinking freshly extracted juices of fruits and vegetables helps maintain healthy organs.

People who are trying to lose weight can turn to juice for a healthy snack or meal replacement. Fruits and vegetables are basically fat-free and are naturally low in calories. Drinking fresh juice satisfies your appetite and is excellent for weight loss or weight maintenance programs.

You can also substitute a meal with a glass of fresh juice, especially juices made with carrot or parsley. Carrot and parsley juices help maintain the blood sugar at normal levels and prevent energy crashes that could happen in a weight loss program.

Juicing diets are becoming more popular as a way to detoxify your system. A juicing diet is now being used by more people to clean out the body so that it will have better access to the restorative and healing nutrients of fresh foods.

Juicing for health is the perfect way to provide the nutrients that your body needs to heal itself and remain healthy.

A manual citrus juicer is a handy little appliance to have in your kitchen. They are usually cheaper and way easier to clean than electric juicers. Even though you have to do a little work to make the juice come out manual juicers are surprisingly easy to use. These types of juicers are perfect when you just need some lemon or lime juice for your recipe. But they are not just great for citrus. Many people also use manual juicers to squeeze out wheatgrass to put into their health drink.

Here are a few manual citrus juicers that we recommend:

Top Things To Consider When Buying A Fruit Juicer

October 14, 2009 · Filed Under citrus juicers, lemon juicer · Comment

A fruit juicer is a very quick way to extract the juice from the fruit. There are many different types of fruit juicers. How do you know which one to choose? Well, here are some things to consider before buying one.

1. Easy to Clean? When I bought my first juicer it was a PAIN to clean. This led me to get another one. So consider what it takes to clean the machine. Some clean a lot easier than others.

2. Easy to Operate? Do you want a manual or electric juicer? If electric, consider the wattage. Some motors are 30 watts and others are 150+.

3. Price. If you are looking for a lifestyle change consider getting a professional fruit juicer. If you are looking to pull it out once a week then you may not want to pay for a professional one. You can get a basic fruit juicer for around $20 USD.  A professional juicer can cost $100+ USD.

4. Size. Some juicers are small and compact while others can be a lot bigger. Depending on what your goals are you may want to consider the size.

You may also want to consider how the machine separates pulp and seeds and whether or not you can control the amount of pulp. Be sure to check out reviews once you narrow down your choices.

Black & Decker Citrus JuicerThe Black and Decker Citrus Juicer is a 30 watt easy to use juicer machine. This is very similar to the CJ525 but has a little bit more power. It is sleek and compact and it also has a wrap around cord. It also comes with a reversal reamer to squeeze out every bit of juice possible. It also comes with the large 32 ounce pitcher and no spill spout. After looking through the reviews from around the ‘net most are very positive. The only downfall is that it will only juice citrus (duh!) ;) and that it is plastic.

automatic citrus juicerThe Oster 3186 Juice-n-Serve 27-Ounce Automatic Citrus Juicer is more powerful than the Black and Decker Citrus Juicer at 150 watts. It also has a pulp and seed separator which comes in very handy. The Oster has a juice level indicator and also a place to store the cord.  It comes with a 27 ounce detachable pitcher as well. The average price is between $15-25 USD. Reviews from around the web say it is small, compact, and easy to use.

Tribest Citristar Electic Citrus JuicerTribest Citrus Juicer has a 50 watt motor and is still quiet. It has a stainless steel filter to separate pulp and seeds and to prevent clogging. A neat feature on this machine is its stainless steel spout. It help with the juicing process and even locks in position to prevent dripping. The cord can be stored in the base of the citrus juicer.
